guttergenerator

What it makes

A clip that holds the gutter, braced back to a foot you screw to a fascia board, a wall or a surface underneath.

The foot can sit almost anywhere: straight back, further out from the wall, or straight down.

Sized from the load

The clip is sized for PETG from the weight of a full gutter over the gap between clips, with a safety margin and an allowance for a knock. A longer reach gets more plastic, and the foot grows until the top screw can hold the load.

Printing it

  • Print the 10mm fit test ring first and snap it onto an offcut.
  • Print in PETG, end view down as it comes. No supports.
  • Use 4 walls and 30% infill.
  • Countersunk screws, heads on the inside face.

Questions

How far apart should the clips be?

Set the spacing in the strength section. The clip is sized for that spacing, so keep them that close or closer.

Can I use PLA?

No. The strength figures assume PETG, and PLA softens in summer sun.
